ISO 20022 Adoption and Migration for Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus

CBPR+ is a SWIFT program for adopting ISO 20022 for cross border payment and reporting messages in the correspondent banking space. The use of ISO 20022 messages in SWIFT cross-border payments started in March 2023 with a coexistence phase up to November 2025, where the old MT messages for cross-border payments and cash reporting will be replaced.

To contribute to a safer and more reliable trade finance environment, UBAF provides a new certification service: Trakk by KOMGO.

KOMGO'S DOCUMENT VERIFICATION TOOL

KOMGO was founded in Geneva in 2018 by the main players in international commodity trading, including Crédit Agricole, to digitize and transform this centuries-old industry.

Trakk is a KOMGO tool that increases the security of digital documents exchanged via email or other electronic means.

Meeting between UBAF and the Central Bank of Iraq

On 21 July, UBAF, represented by the Chief Executive Officer the Head of the Arab World and Turkey Unit, met with Mustafa Ghalib Mukheef, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), his team and a delegation of chairmen and managing directors representing some 20 local banks at the Iraqi Embassy in Paris.

During the event, Mustafa Ghalib Mukheef highlighted the improved economic climate in the country and presented the current political and security situation. In particular, he detailed the CIB's support for the local economy through the increase in foreign currency reserves.

Participation at the Partners and Companies Day

On November 17, UBAF attended the Partners and Companies Day organised by the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce at the Maison des Polytechniciens.

This was an ideal opportunity for UBAF to present and promote its main activity, Trade Finance, and its 51 years of expertise, to 70 participants: companies (Veolia, Transdev, Anteagroup, Merlin Group, Aqualter, Business France, etc.) and representatives of embassies and institutional partners.
