As part of our partnership between UBAF and the BSIC Group, Martine Abu El Ghait and Anissa Lakhdari flew to Abidjan to lead a three-day seminar on a key issue: “Financial Security & Trade Finance”.
Reconciling regulatory requirements and operational realities: that's the challenge taken up by our Africa and Financial Security teams, represented by Anissa Lakhdari, Head of UEAMOA & Cameroon and Martine Abu El Ghait, Financial Security Expert and Training.
According to Martine Abu El Ghait: “This training enabled us to share international regulatory obligations and financial security issues with Compliance Managers and Trade Finance Managers from 12 BSIC subsidiaries”.
For Anissa Lakhdari: "It was a valuable exchange on the risks inherent in international commercial transactions in different jurisdictions, as well as on the methods for assessing and mitigating these risks. Beyond the content, it was the quality of the discussions, which were always open and concrete, that made a lasting impression, with a shared desire: to make compliance a lever, not a constraint.”
We would like to thank Mr Mamadou Pona, Managing Director of the BSIC Group Holding Company, Mr Adama Sogoba, Director of the BSIC Group Training Centre and Mr Adeboke Mensan Affambi, Chief Executive Officer of BSIC Côte d'Ivoire for welcoming us, and the management of the Group in Tripoli for their trust. We would also like to thank all the participants for their warm welcome and discussions. This seminar also enabled us to renew our determination to develop, together, trade finance operations that respect our commitments to fight money laundering and the financing of terrorism, and respect international sanctions.
This initiative demonstrates our expertise and our ability to respond rapidly and effectively to our partners' needs.
